After a very wet first day, the weather certainly improved and overall a great trip. The organisation could not have been better from booking and responding to our concerns and queries and throughout the trip. I love the fact that we were accommodated as individuals to our ability and comfort levels allowing us to feel challenged but not too pressured to affect our enjoyment. I know I wouldn’t have felt comfortable doing the steep scrambles and this was not an issue as we had options of alternative routes. Now looking forward to the next adventure.

the weather was absolutely dreadful. So the fact that I had an absolutely amazing time is all the more impressive!

Our guide is a brilliant 'host': chilled out yet knowledgeable and with everything very much under control, making for a fun few days outdoors and away from everything.
Emily, Wild Camping Snowdonia
Been to several trips in Snowdonia, Lake District and Scotland with these guys. Great and well organised weekends away, with a super community of like-minded people.

Been on 4 trips (hiking in Snowdonia, rock climbing in Peak District, and wild camping in Cadair Idris and Lake District) and can't recommend enough, I've loved every single one of those trips. Love the small sized groups, the dedication and care of the mountain guides and the itineraries they take us. Fabulous hikes, fun times and lovely food and snacks too! Plus travel is always sorted for you so no need to worry about getting to the meeting point. Absolutely recommend!

An essential part of any proper adventure is an element of the unknown (and forgetting toilet paper...).
This weekend offers you the opportunity to have a faff free self-guided bikepacking adventure with us providing all the bits and bobs and prep work. We'll get you kitted out and set up and even work with you to put together a bespoke route to best suit your preferences and experience. Our knowledge of the local area means we can ensure you don't miss out on any of the local goodies. But you'll also be driving this one meaning all the reward is yours to enjoy.
On day one we'll meet up to brief you on the route and make sure you're totally comfortable with the bike and the set up. We include a backup service in this one too, so we'll be sure to come and get you if you run into any problems.
You'll get both a paper map and a bike GPS making the route easy to follow so you can spend more time focusing on the trails and surroundings than unfolding and refolding maps.
We do offer accommodation the night before of after for a small supplement of £25 so get in touch if that's of interest.
This is a perfect trip for anyone who fancies a just turn up adventure. And an especially good fit if you'd like to go on to do your own longer, unsupported rides. We've got loads of experience with bikepacking and love to help fellow adventurers plan for upcoming trips.
Self guided (but we'll be there to set you up)
We're in the Hope Valley. We'll send you more details after booking. Train, bus, and car are all options for reaching us.
We have a bunkhouse at HQ. You can stay here with no extra charge if you're booking on the Bikeglamping trip. Otherwise theres a £25 supplement. Please give us a tinkle to reserve your spot.
If you're a group an AirBnB might be good option.
There's also lots of BnB's, hotels, and hostels around if you'd prefer.
Of course! In fact we'd love you too. Sometimes 1 night just isn't enough. Get in touch and we can arrange something especially for you.
We've also offer extended bike and equipment hire too.
Absolutely! We have ‘open’ dates available for both our guided Introduction to Bikepacking Course and our self-guided bikepacking escapes. There is also the option to have a 1:1 guided bikepacking experience.
Can I do a bikepacking trip anywhere apart from the Peak District?
YES! Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Yes. This course brings together like minded people so it is quite usual to receive bookings from individuals.
We'll send you a kit list once you've booked but it doesn't require special gear.
Certainly. Just let us know before you arrive.
Yes, of course! It’s great to be able to take your trusty steed on holiday with you! Our range of luggage fits a variety of bikes.
For the bikeglamping escapes our luxury bell tents come with a built in stove to help keep you toasty at night, couple this with your sleeping bag and people tend to stay nice and warm. We would still recommend thermal layers for the chillier evenings. A jacket for sitting around the camp-fire at night is definitely recommended.
For the bikepacking escapes, it is recommended to bring extra clothing, including thermal layers to help keep you toasty at night. Part of our expert tuition before setting you out will include techniques and strategies for staying warm and dry too.
A resounding yes! We fully encourage family escapes by bicycle! Each escape we provide is fully customisable, so you can be confident we can put something together which is just right for you.
This often happens… Our suggestion is that you shoot us a message with your desired date/s. We can then ‘fine tune’ the number of participants and organise the specific equipment needs at a later date (but no later than 2 weeks prior to the trip).
No previous off-road cycling or mountain biking experience is required, but you do need to be happy to cycle 20-30 miles a day.
Yes, we can deliver our luggage and wild camping equipment to a UK address. We will send out the equipment to arrive the day before your hire period, and request that you send back the equipment at the end of your hire period. For example, if your hire dates were from Friday to Sunday, we would get the equipment sent out to you by the Thursday and you would email though proof of return postage on the Monday.
No, we will only charge you for your hire period. We will send out the equipment so that it arrives the day before your hire dates, we then request that you send us proof of postage on the day after the hire period ends. Any additional days beyond this will be charged as further hire.
Yes. For all equipment hire, whether collected or delivered, we will require a fully refundable deposit. You will receive this deposit straight back to your account as soon as we receive the equipment.
If a piece of equipment is lost, then you agree to cover the cost of replacing that piece of equipment. This will be taken from your deposit. If equipment is damaged beyond repair, you agree to replace that piece of equipment. This does not apply to general wear and tear.
Yes. You are welcome to come and collect all hire equipment from us
