Ash R

Writer

Like many adventurous folk, Ash lives a double life. Public health scientist by day, and freelance adventure writer by night. He has written for national newspapers and global outlets such as Red Bull, Outside, and the Financial Times. Ash has a passion for cold weather and arctic travel, such as walking 640km across a frozen Lake Baikal in Siberia a couple of years ago.

Mark W

Writer

Mark Watson is a New Zealand-based photographer and author specialising in landscape, adventure and travel photography. His passion for climbing, cycling and photography have taken him all over New Zealand and many places overseas in search of fresh experiences in the crags, mountains, and among new cultures. His most epic adventure yet was a 4-year, 45,500km journey from Alaska to central Patagonia.

Amy S

Writer

Amy is a freelance writer based in the Yorkshire countryside. Specialising in travel writing, she discovered a love of all things outdoors while volunteering and camping in beautiful British Columbia. You’ll often find her tramping trails with partner Phil and their rescue pup, Wolfie.

Nick D

Writer

Nick is an outdoor enthusiast and journalist who writes walking columns for Scottish Field and Scotland on Sunday, as well as articles on the outdoors for The Scots Magazine and national newspapers. His first love is the hills but you can also find him on paddleboards, in kayaks and canoes and occasionally camping out wild in the middle of nowhere.

Jacob A

Writer

A scientist by training and a communicator by trade, Jacob is happiest surrounded by plenty of greenery and perhaps a panoramic view or two. Currently based in London, he enjoys finding the city's best green spots within the urban jungle.

Charli M

Writer

Living for adventure, Charli frequently escapes from her base in the UK and rambles about her travels to other adventurers. She also has a penchant for remote landscapes and crunchy peanut butter.

George B

Founder

George (our founder) is always on the hunt for new ways to get his latest adventure fix. Uninspired and in search of stoke, George left his job in Finance in The City heading out on an 18-month off-road bike trip from Alaska to Panama. After returning home he set up Call to Adventure on a mission to help create 'happier people and a healthier planet through adventure and community'.

Emily R

Content Manager

Languages graduate, nature addict and part-time Labrador, Em lives to explore. Having lived in the French Alps, the Lake District and the Canadian Rockies, home has always involved an adventure playground for a back garden with endless opportunities for adventure. If she’s not racing her dog up the fells, hitting the surf or escaping in her camper van, chances are she’ll be writing about the joys of all the above.

Steph C

Writer

Steph loves walking long distances slowly, taking photos along the way and always making time for coffee and cake. She sometimes runs (very slowly) but would prefer not to if she can help it. Through her writing, she loves inspiring others to get outside and live more adventurously.
