Getting There

DAY 1 : Arrival & Rock Climbing

We'll pick you up at Toulouse Airport and bring you back to our guest house in Luchon aka the Queen of the Pyrenees. Once you've dropped your stuff off and had a quick drink we'll head right out for some rock climbing.

There are some fantastic crags surrounding the town and varying grades so we'll find you something perfect for your ability.

We'll be sport climbing (which means there are already bolts in the wall so you don't have to place your own gear, unlike 'trad' climbing) and you'll be top roping (which means if you fall off you won't go anywhere, as opposed to lead climbing) so you don't need to worry about falling and can really go for it.

Your guide is a highly accomplished climbed so will be able to give you some great tips to improve your technique

DAY 2 : Hiking & Wild Swimming

It's time to explore deep into the best the Pyrenees has to offer trekking a vast ancient glacial valley to reveal two sapphire coloured mountain lakes.

We'll take a dip here and then hike the Venasque Pass into Spain.

The views are truly stunning. See for yourself!

We'll traverse the Escalde Pass between Spain and France and finish up the day back on the French side of the border at Hospice de France.

Total hiking time: 7-8 hours

(Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included)

DAY 3 : Canyoning

Day 3 and it's time to hit the water.

After yesterdays hike we'll treat ourselves to a relaxed morning and then head to Valley Oo. The setting of these canyons is exactly what comes to mind when day dreaming of picturesque mountains. And it's time for some fun.

We'll be jumping off cliffs, abseiling and swinging over deep pools on zip lines.

The water is incredibly fresh and some believe to be healing.

This is often an unexpected highlight of the weekend.

DAY 4 : Mountain biking

With all the activities you'll feel like you've been here a week but it's only that start of day 4. And it's time for mountain biking through this truly awesome mountain range.

We'll start early and catch the gondola up to Superbagneres (about 2,000 meters above sea level) for some killer views. After a few selfies and deep breathes soaking up the mountain air it's time to hit the trails. There's varying levels from absolute beginner to pro. Another epic day in the bag!

What if I can't go on the trip due to COVID-19?

We always recommend you take out travel insurance (it's often mandatory to book on many of our trips). Trailfinders are now offering cover for COVID cancellations so be sure to check their insurance out.

Is it safe to travel now given the COVID-19 situation?

The Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) is responsible for deciding when it's safe to travel. They have now given the green light for tourism to this destination.

What precautions are you taking given COVID-19

Our main priority is your safety. Our guides have carried out independent risk assessments in light of COVID. All of our guides and partners have also been sent a copy of the Adventure Travel Trade Associations guidelines to ensure they are running trips as safely as possible

Can we book as a private group?

Of course. You'll need to book at least the minimum number of places to secure the trip exclusively for you. Just fill out the 'private booking' form near the bottom of the page, or give us a ring on +44 208 638 8944

Can we change the activities if we aren't so keen on one or would like to add something new?

Yes. We put these together as a starting point and the set itineraries work great for many but we can switch things up for you as you like. Not keen on climbing for example? We can sub in an extra day of something you know you like so you make the most of your trip. Just shoot us an email or give us a buzz on +44 208 638 8944

How fit do I need to be?

The activities are designed for all levels of experience so as long as you're used to some hill walking you'll be fine. The hiking and mountain biking days aren't too long and there's nothing technical.

You don't need to be super fit but a decent level of fitness is probably required for you to fully enjoy it (as with anything!)

Do I need to be a good swimmer?

As long as you've got a basic swimming ability you'll be fine. The wild swimming is designed to be fun and you can sit it out if you'd rather not do it.

Are flights included?

Flights aren't included as this gives you options if you're travelling from the UK. There are many flights that arrive in Toulouse daily from many different airports – contact us for more information.

You'll be picked up from the airport at 11.30 am on day one. On the day you leave, you'll be dropped off at Toulouse airport for 2.30 pm approximately.

If there are any problems with this please let us know and we will also try and help, however it might mean in getting a hire car/train or taxi to your start/finish point.

The accommodation is 1h 40 mins drive from Toulouse Airport.

Can you run this trip on other dates?

We can put on dates to suit your availability. Get in touch and we can get the ball rolling.

Is there a minimum age for this trip?

Yes, all our trips are for people of 18 years of age and older.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
