ITINERARY

* Our guide is on paternity leave until July 2021 so we wont be taking bookings until after then

DAY 1

If you're arriving by train we'll get the bikes to Hope Train Station. We'll give you directions to HQ about 2km away and you're already off on a mini adventure. To make it nice and easy, we'll bring your luggage back with us. Winning!

Once back we can get you kitted out with all your gear for the weekend - bike, bags, and equipment.

The only things you need to bring are a sleeping bag, clothing, plenty of excitement, and maybe some chauffage cream...

The morning kicks off with a brief. We'll set out a bespoke route through the Peak District National Park for you, including our top tips and favourite places to stop off along the way.

You'll get a paper route map but we'll also set you up with a super simple bike GPS, so you know exactly where to go. Nothing says adventure like a proper map but the GPS means you can spend less time figuring out when to turn left and more time soaking up the stoke.

We always ensure that the route is tailored to the groups ability and preference but wherever you head out you're sure to be rewarded with quiet country lanes, ancient tracks, and super fun trails around the White and Dark Peak.

Whether you're all about putting miles on the clock or just steadily exploring, you'll love discovering this unique place.

After a good days ride it's back to our secret spot for 'wild' glamping. All the benefits of being out in the woodland but with all the extra trimmings. You'll arrive at a private luxury camp with your own wood burning stove, kitchen, and comfy beds. Our super cosy 5 meter Bell Tent UK tents are sure to provide the perfect place to recharge.

You'll also get to enjoy the fire-pit seating area, dry wood store, shower tent and world famous loo with a view. We'll leave you a luxury hamper filled with local produce and some treats to really spoil you.

Take the time to relax by the fire, read a good book, journal, share stories of the day, and hopefully enjoy a star-filled night sky before hitting the hay for more bikepacking tomorrow.

DAY 2

Wakey wakey. It's adventure time. There's no rush to get going through. Enjoy a slow breaky listening to the sounds of the birds and watching the sunrise. Unlike regular bikepacking, there's no messing around putting the tent away or any of that jazz. It's just get fed, hop on your bike and go.

You'll be heading back to us at HQ. After a night in the wild you'll be really getting into the groove of it now, exploring the rolling hills and stunning scenery. Take as long as you like but just know there's the option to hop on the train as the Hope Valley line stops at a number of villages on the way. Perfect if you're ready for cake and a drink!

Join us again in the late afternoon to tell us all about your adventure over a cuppa.

Our founder George has put together a mini-ebook on everything you could ever want to know about bikepacking if you're keen to swot up before you go.

What adventures are saying...

They understood exactly what we were after. It was a seamless long weekend: train from London, they picked us up from the station and welcomed us to the bunk house. The next morning they set us off onto a beautiful and challenging mountain biking route with all the right gear on bikes that led to a protected spot in the middle of the forest. We would never have been able to match this, with pulling together all the gear and local knowledge that these guys provide. After 6 months of travelling around Europe, this weekend has been one of the best! We will be back!

FAQ

General FAQ

Is this book available to book?

We're just looking at dates for next year so bear with us!

Where exactly are you and how do I get there?

We're in the Hope Valley. We'll send you more details after booking. Train, bus, and car are all options for reaching us.

Where can I stay before my adventure?

We have a bunkhouse at HQ. You can stay here with no extra charge if you're booking on the Bikeglamping trip. Otherwise theres a £25 supplement. Please give us a tinkle to reserve your spot.

If you're a group an AirBnB might be good option.

There's also lots of BnB's, hotels, and hostels around if you'd prefer.

Can I extend my adventure to more than 1 night?

Of course! In fact we'd love you too. Sometimes 1 night just isn't enough. Get in touch and we can arrange something especially for you.

We've also offer extended bike and equipment hire too.

I want to do a self-guided bikepacking trip but don't want to do it alone. Can I join a group?

Absolutely! We have ‘open’ dates available for both our guided Introduction to Bikepacking Course and our self-guided bikepacking escapes. There is also the option to have a 1:1 guided bikepacking experience.

Can I do a bikepacking trip anywhere apart from the Peak District?

YES! Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Can I book on the course as an individual?

Yes. This course brings together like minded people so it is quite usual to receive bookings from individuals.

What kit will I need for the bikepacking escape?

We'll send you a kit list once you've booked but it doesn't require special gear.

Can you cater for dietary requirements on the bikeglamping escape?

Certainly. Just let us know before you arrive.

Can I use my own bike?

Yes, of course! It’s great to be able to take your trusty steed on holiday with you! Our range of luggage fits a variety of bikes.

Will it get cold at night?

For the bikeglamping escapes our luxury bell tents come with a built in stove to help keep you toasty at night, couple this with your sleeping bag and people tend to stay nice and warm. We would still recommend thermal layers for the chillier evenings. A jacket for sitting around the camp-fire at night is definitely recommended.

For the bikepacking escapes, it is recommended to bring extra clothing, including thermal layers to help keep you toasty at night. Part of our expert tuition before setting you out will include techniques and strategies for staying warm and dry too.

Can we book a bikepacking/bikeglamping escape as a family with children?

A resounding yes! We fully encourage family escapes by bicycle! Each escape we provide is fully customisable, so you can be confident we can put something together which is just right for you.

I would like to book a group for a bikepacking escape but I’m not sure how many people I can get together, what are my options?

This often happens… Our suggestion is that you shoot us a message with your desired date/s. We can then ‘fine tune’ the number of participants and organise the specific equipment needs at a later date (but no later than 2 weeks prior to the trip).

What level of Experience do I need for the Intro to Bikepacking course?

No previous off-road cycling or mountain biking experience is required, but you do need to be happy to cycle 20-30 miles a day.

Is there a minimum age for this trip?

Yes, all our trips are for people of 18 years of age and older.

HIRE

I would like to hire bike luggage and/or wild camping equipment, can this be delivered?

Yes, we can deliver our luggage and wild camping equipment to a UK address. We will send out the equipment to arrive the day before your hire period, and request that you send back the equipment at the end of your hire period. For example, if your hire dates were from Friday to Sunday, we would get the equipment sent out to you by the Thursday and you would email though proof of return postage on the Monday.

Do I need to hire the equipment for the days it's in delivery?

No, we will only charge you for your hire period. We will send out the equipment so that it arrives the day before your hire dates, we then request that you send us proof of postage on the day after the hire period ends. Any additional days beyond this will be charged as further hire.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. For all equipment hire, whether collected or delivered, we will require a fully refundable deposit. You will receive this deposit straight back to your account as soon as we receive the equipment.

What  happens if I damage or lose equipment?

If a piece of equipment is lost, then you agree to cover the cost of replacing that piece of equipment. This will be taken from your deposit. If equipment is damaged beyond repair, you agree to replace that piece of equipment. This does not apply to general wear and tear.

Is there a cheaper alternative to delivery?

Yes. You are welcome to come and collect all hire equipment from us

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
