ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrival and Wild Camp

We kick our weekends off by meeting at our HQ in the centre of Newquay at 6pm for a warm welcome from your hosts for the weekend. After you've met your fellow adventurers and the weekend plan has been set, you’ll head up to our wild camp for your first evening of woodland shenanigans! If you're getting to us by public transport, we'll pair you up for a lift share with another adventurer.

Your hosts will give you the camp tour and you then have the evening to settle in and become accustomed to Wild Camp Living! After a quick introduction to the camp, you’ll want to settle into your shared Bell tent (air bed provided) before the evening activities begin. Complete with a hand built games area, Axe throwing zone and sheltered communicable Fire Pit, you’ll spend your time getting to know everyone, and designating the camp chef for the following evening!

The evenings agenda is up to you. Feel free to just chill out and relax under the stars or get involved in axe throwing, woodland games, giant jenga, and even some fire lighting skills... Top it all off with tales around the campfire, toasting marshmallows, or sipping on a cold one. Bring something for dinner if you haven't already eaten - or a pizza to heat in our new pizza oven.

Day 2 - Surfing, Coasteering, and Wild Camping

Day 2 is the biggie!

We’ll head back into Newquay after a basic but filling camp breakfast of cereals, fruits & tea/coffee for our first day of activities.

Surfing or coasteering may be first up, depending on conditions so bring your a game (and swimmers) ready to tackle either! Below is a typical surf then coasteer day.

We'll get you all kitted out with a wetsuit and surfboard ready to hit the waves. Most people have never surfed before or only tried it a handful of times so you'll be in good company even if this is your first time. But our surf coaches really know what they are talking about so more experienced surfers will feel right at home too. Whether you're aiming just to stand up or work on your switchbacks, we've got you!

We'll most likely be surfing at Fistral Beach but there's other spots we can check out too depending on the waves and the tide. After our first surf lesson you'll  have a chance to grab some grub and take a peek in Newquay's many surf (and other) shops before the afternoon sesh. Newquay is pumping during the summer and a great place to soak up the good vibes.

Refuelled and recharged, it's time for an afternoon of coasteering. It's a quick hop skip and jump over to the sea cliffs where we'll get cracking. Don't be intimidated by this one. Most of our guests haven't tried coasteering before and it's perfectly normal to feel a bit apprehensive about it...that's part of the fun! Our pro's will be there to reassure you and you'll be flinging yourself off the edge with trepidation in no time. Deep water cliff jumps, wild swimming, exploring large caves, this is what the North Cornish Coast is all about! Filled with stoke, we'll head back to your luxury bell tent at our woodland wild campsite. Bring some bites for the BBQ and a few tipples and we'll bring the rest.

The evenings agenda is up to you. Feel free to just chill out and relax under the stars or get involved in axe throwing, woodland games, giant jenga, and even some firefighting skills... Top it all off with tales around the campfire, toasting marshmallows, sipping on a cold one.

Day 3 - Surf School Round 2

Hopefully you'll wake up fully refreshed after a great wild camp in your little corner of private Cornish woodland and you'll be ready for another day of adventure. We'll kick things off with a camp breakfast and hot cup of coffee or tea (all on us) before strolling back down to the beach for another surf lesson.

You'll have the chance to work on what you learned yesterday, soak up the ocean vibes, and bask in the sunshine (hopefully). We'll then grab some lunch, gobbling down something tasty, enjoying the sea view before saying ciao (for now) to your new mates.

What adventures are saying...

I booked a wild camping weekend with my two sons. Matt and victor were superb tutors hosts and guides . We all had a fantastic time . They accommodated my boys abilities to perfection which I can't thank them enough for. The group of lovely people we were on the weekend with gelled too , this was an added bonus. FAQ

Do I need surfing or coasteering experience?

Nope, this is open to all levels including complete beginners.

How fit do I need to be?

This is suitable for pretty much everyone so long as you can swim 25 meters in open water.

Is this a good option if I'm travelling alone?

Hell yer! Around half of those going on our adventures book on alone. This is a great option for solo travellers, couples, and groups. It's a perfect chance to meet likeminded legends.

What's the average age of the group?

Groups are usually a mix of ages from 20s right through to 50s.

Do I have to share a tent?

The bell tents sleep 3-4 people and if you're travelling solo you'll share a tent with like-minded adventurers. If you'd prefer to be on your own it's not a problem - we have tents available for sole occupancy at no extra cost. Be aware though that these are ordinary Vango tents rather than bell tents.

What time do we start and finish?

We normally kick off at 9am on Saturday and finish up by 1pm on Sunday so you've not back too late.

I've booked a train home at 1:30pm, will I make it?

We always work around public transport booked so we can get you back to the start by 12:30pm - the train station's just a 15 minute walk from there.

What should I bring?

Surfing - swimwear for under your wetsuit, shoes to walk to the beach in, and a towel.

Coasteering - swimwear for under your wetsuit, lace up trainers you don't mind getting wet, and a towel.

Wild camping - sleeping bag, some warm clothes, some grub, and drinks. Don't have a sleeping bag or don't want to carry one on the train? You can hire a bag for £14 for the weekend.

You'll get a full packing list ahead of the trip.

What food do I need to bring?

  • 1 litre of water per person
  • BBQ food for your evening meal - pizza for Friday night
  • Your favourite drinks

We provide all the cutlery, enamel plates, cups and BBQ tools. There is a basic camp cooker and pots for those not BBQ’ing.

you’ll get the time to visit the Sainsbury’s supermarket after your final activity session before you head up to the wild camp location. The supermarket is directly behind our activity base in Newquay and has free parking for 1 hour 30mins.

You'll need to be able to carry what you have with you. The wild camps are a short walk from the parking area. We provide wheelbarrows but you'll need to carry what you bring!

What do you mean by wild camping exactly?

You'll get to stay on your very own wild campsite nestled deep in the Cornish woods on our private land.

We've combined the best parts of getting away from the crowds whilst also creating a base camp to play games, sit around the fire, without the faff of having to bring your own tent and mattresses.

You'll kip out under the stars in a bell tent already kitted out with air bed and pillow.

There's a covered community area to hang out, a shower and a composting toilet, so think of it more as wild glamping!

How can I get there if I don't have a car?

We'll be doing all the activities from our central base in Newquay. Camping is a quick drive from town. You can jump in with us or with one of your adventure pals to get there so no probs.

How long do the activities go on for?

Coasteering and surfing are 2 hours and wild camping usually kicks off around 5 or in the evening until the next morning when we'll head back for the final activity.

Is there a minimum age for this trip?

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
