What travelers say about Emmanuel

I had an absolutely amazing experience climbing Kilimanjaro. Extremely knowledgeable and professional guides who could tell us all about the geography, geology and history of the country and Kilimanjaro region. Jeremiah was our team chef who cooked wonderful food throughout. With their expertise me and my friend managed to summit and more importantly come back down safely. If you want to climb Kilimanjaro this is the team for you.

I liked how there was someone to talk to who was in the UK and was able to advise on the trip. I had a fantastic experience and everything was taken care of from the moment I landed in Tanzania. The hotel was nice and the tour guide was amazing, as was the entire team during the whole experience. This was definitely one of the best experiences of my life and I will definitely be booking more trips with call to adventure! The Kilimanjaro trek was amazing, all I had to do was turn up with my kit, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the whole thing was, I usually have terrible experiences booking things but I can honestly say the whole thing was seamless, everything went to plan and I had no issues at all! Thank you for helping me to achieve a life goal!

A tight-knit posse – big enough for camp banter, small enough to feel like a team.

Solo Friendly

~60 % book solo

Rock up alone, leave with summit buddies (and a group WhatsApp that pings for years).

Fitness matters more than years. We’ve had late-20s desk jockeys and sprightly 50-somethings hit the top together.

Altitude vs Sea-level

Beach bumThin-air junkie

Even with a gradual route we’ll top out just shy of 5,000 m – expect puffing lungs and epic views in equal measure.

Bedtime Comfort

Fluffy duvetHut bunk

Sturdy mountain huts & four-season sleeping bags, not boutique hotels. If you can cope with basic loos and shared dorms you’ll thrive.

Daily Effort

Easy strollBig-day expedition

4–7 h trekking most days; summit day is a 10–12-hour whopper. Solid hill-fitness pays off.

Crowd Factor

TikTok hotspotHidden gem

Kili gets the coach tours; Mount Kenya stays blissfully quiet. Chances are you’ll share the trail with more hyrax than humans.

How to Prepare
Hit the hills. Aim for back-to-back 6-hour hikes carrying 8 kg so your legs know what’s coming. Mix in stair intervals or treadmill-incline sessions mid-week. Break-in boots, test waterproofs and practise faffing with gloves on (summit morning is chilly). Vaccinations, travel insurance and an altitude-aware policy are mandatory. We’ll send a full kit list – headline items are a four-season sleeping bag, trekking poles and a sense of humour.

Altitude & the 2 a.m. Summit Push

Even the fittest trekkers feel the thin air above 4,000 m. That’s why our route climbs gently via Sirimon and builds in a full Peak-Circuit acclim day. Slow and steady = more oxygen in the legs come summit morning.

Yes, the alarm really does go off at 02:00. That pre-dawn start lets us tag Point Lenana for sunrise and avoid afternoon storms on the descent. Pack a spare Buff, trust the guides’ pace and you’ll be back below 4,000 m in time for brunch.

Top Tip
Take it Pole Pole (slowly, slowly). Your guides’ gentle pace is the secret weapon against altitude – resist the urge to charge ahead and you’ll feel far stronger on summit day.

What our adventurers say

These guys are a great team to join and trust, to take you anywhere. I loved doing Mount Kenya with them.

Summit Mount Kenya

From start to finish, the guide ethos was apparent and stayed with us throughout – The team were immense. Climbing Mount Kenya from the east, via Chogoria Gate was a great option due to being more challenging, more remote and virtually no other trekkers insight. My highlights were waking up each morning at awesome wild campsites, stargazing and summiting Point Lenana at dawn with an incredible 360 panoramic view. 5 words to describe: epic, majestic, inspiring, off-grid and fun!Bill
