If Jim isn’t showing you some hidden treasures of the places that you’ll venture too or meeting local people (he’s a bit of a celeb in Morocco with endless handshakes and the echoes of ‘Jims’ following him down the dusty roads of Imlil), then he’s probably sharing some of his really bad jokes.

Our Snowdon Triple Challenge was a pleasure from start to finish. They made it very easy for me. I had help with setting up my fundraising pages, to finding the right hotels and to advice on the actual event itself. The communication was brilliant. During the event itself the brief was excellent and the Guide was knowledgeable, friendly and got us all through the challenge. The whole experience was fantastic and one I would definitely recommend.

We had a great trip doing the Welsh 3000s. It was an adventure and the guides were very professional and we felt in safe hands all the time. It was fun and I was able to challenge my limits. They also made it possible to do easier versions of the route if you were not keen to go out of your comfort zone. Thanks so much

Mountain miles

Hike-curious10-hour leg-ends
Expect back-to-back 20 km hill days with 1,500 m ascent. Train and you’ll love it; wing it and you’ll most likely suffer.

Technical exposure

Gentle pathsKnife-edge scrambles
Two Grade 1 scrambles (Tryfan & Crib Goch). Guides manage rope and route; alt lines available if heights melt your brain.

Group spirit

Lone wolfTeam hype
Small crews (≤12) share kit-tips, jelly babies and summit selfies. Solo travellers welcome – you’ll leave with WhatsApp pinging.

Creature comforts

Wild bivvyBoutique hotel
Simple bunk-house dorms, hot showers, pub nearby. You came for peaks, not pillow menus.
How to Prepare
Hit the hills – not just the gym. Aim for: • 2–3 cardio sessions a week (running, cycling, StairMaster) • One long hill day (6–7 hrs, 1,000 m+ ascent) – build to two back-to-back weekends by month-end • Core & balance work (planks, single-leg squats) for scrambling stability • Break in boots, test waterproofs and dial snack routine. A 12-week PDF plan lands in your inbox when you book.

Worried about Crib Goch?

You’re not alone – most Welsh 3000s hopefuls lose sleep over that knife-edge ridge. Our Mountain Leaders tackle it weekly and will coach foot- and hand-placements before you step onto the rock. Prefer to skip the exposure? We’ve got an alternative line ready.

Safety first, summit second
If the weather turns gnarly we reroute or wait it out – no summit is worth a call-out.

What our adventurers say

Thanks you so much for a wonderful 3 days in Snowdonia. We thought that our guide was a fantastic guy - really calm and reassuring, reading the conditions and the pace of the group perfectly. And he was great value - always on time in the mornings and afternoons, and always cheerful. Thanks also for the delicious packed lunches! Once the muscles have recovered we’ll start thinking about our next challenge.

Welsh 3000's Challenge

One of the best weekends of my life. The organisation of each day was fantastic. The Guides were brilliant with the group throughout the challenge. Always helpful, understanding and informative. Special mention to our Guide with him I spent most of the trip. Well done. You have given me a reason to keep on keeping fit. I will definitely be back for another challenge. Not felt as good as I did this weekend for years!
